Brief & feasibility
Use, site, access, approximate budget, planning position and preferred timing.
How we build
We respect the structural logic that has kept timber buildings standing for generations, then add the insulation, moisture control, engineering and precision expected today.
Six stages
The exact programme changes by project, but the logic stays consistent: establish feasibility, freeze the design, prepare carefully and keep site work organised.
Use, site, access, approximate budget, planning position and preferred timing.
Levels, delivery access, services, boundaries and practical foundation considerations.
Layout, elevations, structure, build-ups, glazing, finishes and service zones.
Drawings, calculations and the relevant approval information where required.
Timber-frame elements, materials and sequencing coordinated before site assembly.
Envelope, finishes, final checks, agreed documentation and aftercare guidance.
Time-honoured structural logic
Traditional timber buildings endured because load paths were understood, joints respected the material and weather was kept away from the structure. Those principles still matter.
We combine them with graded structural timber, engineered calculations, factory-led accuracy, insulation continuity and carefully detailed membranes. The result should feel warm and characterful, without sacrificing modern building performance.
Typical construction approach
A strong frame is only one part of a good timber building. Insulation continuity, membranes, ventilation, roof and floor junctions, glazing installation and moisture management all need to work together.
Typical Lodrix specifications may include C24 structural timber, structural sheathing, high-performance insulation, breathable and airtightness layers, ventilated cladding systems and project-specific roof finishes. Final build-ups are confirmed by project.
Choose the right scope
Structure, external envelope, windows and defined weather-tight scope.
A coordinated building package installed to an agreed level of finish.
Interior finishes and services coordination through to handover, subject to scope.
Project review & takeover support
Lodrix can review architect or planning drawings, an existing specification, or a stalled construction route and advise what is needed to turn it into a clearer design-and-build proposal. We define what can be retained, what needs further technical input and where responsibility should sit.
